Confessions of a Catholic Feminist

Before you judge, I want to let you know a few facts about me:

I am a human being of the same flesh and bone like you and me.

I am a woman and a feminist.

I do believe in God and I will continue to do so because He will always forgive and love me no matter what.

But I also believe everyone, catholic or not, should have equal rights and defend those who are overlooked and are forced to be silent. I believe a pregnant woman should have the liberty to decide what's best for her baby's welfare than to have my government or 70-80yr chaste men (cough*cardinals and popes*) who will never carry a child inside their own bodies in their lifetime.

If you are wondering, I am pro-choice. I am concern for my health first before I am ready give another life. How could the baby be healthy if the mom is not? Worse, what happens to the mother when the attention is on how the baby will be born and not how it will be raised? An unborn is an unborn, not a human but a clump of cell transfiguring into baby. We, as women, are the only gender to carry a child for nine months.

Until women received adequate healthcare and the same career opportunities as males without sexual or physical prejudice, then I will go back to being pro-life. I am still waiting for the change.
